Gospel Global is the ministry of like-minded Christians developed for the single purpose of Uniting Believers. When we look around us, we will experience different gulfs that separate us. Among the Christians, we have various denominations, and among the same denominations, we have other groups separated by different cultures into tribal groups. Then we have groups that are differentiated according to their nationalities.
Among the so-called Christians are those preaching and listening to wrong doctrines. There are many group leaders that need support, like Apollo in the Bible. There are many more that portends to be Christians, but they are into cultism through either culpability or innocence. Individuals in these groups need divine encounters for a change of heart and beliefs. God needs us to reach out to them through education and a proper orientation so that they can begin to live under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
We equally have individuals of other religions that are similarly separated into different groups like the Christians. Thus, the Lord is working daily to unite non-believers with believers through the phenomena of Salvation, while He is equally working through the Holy Spirit to unite all those that believed in His Name irrespective of their denominations. This action stems from the love for the Gospel and the love for Others.
Our duty as believers is to go and make disciples of all nations. Our desired action to obey the command stems from the love for the Lord, the Gospel, and the love for Others. This discipleship we are envisaging is not only in numerical form. We must ensure that we make disciples that are of the same Spirit and of one Faith in the lordship of Jesus Christ. We also have a secondary duty of working for the unification of all believers by Faith through the unity of the Spirit.
It is the unity in Spirit, i.e., the same Holy Spirit working in us, that will bring about unity in character that includes our beliefs and actions. Through the strength of our unity, we will be able to portray the love of Jesus Christ to the world. It is at this level that we will be said to have achieved the unity that our Lord envisaged.
It looks like a task that is too difficult to achieve, but the Bible tells us that All things are possible with God. Our responsibility does not stop here. We need to progress from the first two assignments to the ultimate reality. We must not be naïve about the devil’s craftiness in his ploy to unite the world religions. We need to remind ourselves that our Lord’s period on earth was at a time of one universal world power. It is also apparent that arrangements are being made to return the world to one universal government, during which time is expected the second coming of the Messiah.
While the devil is setting the stage for one universal religion under one universal government, we Christians should strive to unite all believers in one Spirit and one Faith to meet the expected challenges so that many elects may not be deceived if the Lord tarries in His return. The Lord also prayed and is still praying that believers should be one in Him and the Father through the Holy Spirit. Thus, as Christians, we might have come from different backgrounds, but the Spirit in us should be the peculiar Personality that witnesses to us that we are all children of God and believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We must be mindful of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in this regard because He is our Comforted and the perfect Teacher that will teach us and reveal to us the mind of the Father. It is also He that will direct our steps on how to go with this mission that is staring us in the face. But we believe that with God on our side, all things shall be possible because the Bible informed us that it is God who produces in us the desires and actions that please Him (Philippians 2:13). Jesus prayed for His disciples (John 17:11) that they might be in one Spirit with the Father just as He was one with the Father. (Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are). Our aspiration as followers of Jesus Christ is to be more like Him on a daily basis so that we can remain in Him as He is in the Father.
Jesus also prayed for us (John 17:20-21) that those that will be saved through the work of His disciples would equally be in unity with Him like the case of the disciples (I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me). Jesus prayed this prayer so that the world would know that we are one and we are His followers. It is the realization and the manifestation of this prayer that will distinguish those that are called from the wolves in sheep’s clothing. It is also through this prayer that the world will come to the realization that we are representatives of Jesus Christ (like the Christians in Antioch).
Finally, in Mathew 28:18-20, Jesus informed His disciples that all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to Him. With this reality, we have His mandate to go and do His bidding. He also directed them to go and make disciples of all nations. This we have decided to do in consonance with His directive. He also encouraged them to teach them to observe all His commandments: to love God with their whole being and to love their neighbors as themselves. The love for God, the Gospel, and our neighbors is the motivating factor for our quest for this evangelistic journey. Lastly, Jesus promised the disciples that He would always be with them. This assurance will form the foundation and backbone of this ministry.
